took a walk down my old street today... i haven't been there for quite some time... we moved four years ago and i live about a half and hour walk away and generally i am too lazy to do that often.
memories. flooding. crashing. i'd forgotten.
they cut down my favourite cherry blossom tree.. and they put a bench on the porch.
but they left the curtain in the front door window.

This picture was taken on the way to my friend Taryn's party back in... early march... the snowbanks were still piled high and i remember destesting the freezing rain as it came down once again... but at that moment right before i took this picture, i looked around and felt that everything was so beautiful... the light from the streetlights bending sharply through the window and bounding off the snow... the light from the headlights of cars that turned the water droplets on the window pane to glistening jewels. it's not a very good shot and of course, no one is gladder than i that it has finally stopped snowing and the weather is warmer the flowers are poking out of the ground... but looking at that picture i am reminded that God can turn the drabbest of situations into something beautiful. It has been a rough week... but i trust that God can take whatever hardships i have encountered and use them to His glory. :)
